30 Posters in 30 Days Challenge

Poster Design / Layout Design / Typography

With a tight deadline, there was the challenge of effectively having to complete one poster design everyday for a month. There was no time for art blocks or hesitation, and it was a very experimental project with a focus on typography and colour.

Challenge

Rather than focusing on small details and making the perfect designs, I used this challenge as an opportunity to try out things I wouldn’t usually do, and work with no expectations.

I had been used to images being the main focal point within my work, and so explored typography and made it a rule that no images were to be used.

Solution

The outcome of this fun challenge was quite surprising, and I could see the improvement from the first day to the final day. I got a lot more comfortable (and daring) with typography as the days went on. I also loved working without planning or expectations, and discovered how sometimes the best ideas can create themselves on the (digital) canvas.
