Hannibal Title Sequence
Animation / Illustration
For this personal project, I created an animated title sequence for the TV show ‘Hannibal’ to explore motion design and storytelling. Procreate was used to illustrate each individual frame (152 total), bringing a unique visual style, with Adobe Premiere Pro being used to edit the entire sequence including audio and text elements. The aim was to reflect the show’s overall tone and themes without giving too much away.

Scene Breakdown
The intro depicts a singular lit window, drawing the viewer inward as the lights flicker, acting as a transition from the ordinary to the unsettling.
Hannibal enjoys fine cuisine, hinted at through the close-up view of a dining table setup. As the wine falls, it symbolises the spilling of blood throughout the show.
A chunk of sliced meat plays with the theme of cannibalism and links back to the fine dining concept. The unknown source adds a disturbing feel for the viewer.
As the sequence gets darker, a heart pulses and splatters blood, representing the intense psychological and emotional core of the series.
A delicate feather falls, followed by wilted flowers that suddenly bloom back to life. This acts as a metaphor for Hannibal's ability to manipulate perception, reviving what is decayed and controlling the narrative in his own way.
Initial Planning
Initial ideas for this animation involved a lot more scenes. Each one intended to highlight themes from the show and develop a sense of fear and tension. However, these had to be filtered down to ensure the sequence was not too long or gave away too much.
